A moment spent alone doing something you enjoyed

Hi Guys!!! This will be my last and fifth post of my English Blog homework so I hope you will enjoy it for the last time! It started like this...

It was Sunday and my family decided not to go out so I decided to play basketball, which is my favourite hobby, at a near-by basketball court. After changing into my sport attire and refilling my water bottle, I quickly rode my bicycle to the near-by basketball court instead of walking there so that I can play more and save some time. At the basketball court, I dribbled around to practice my dribbling of the ball so I can play well later. After a while, I started practicing my shooting and some layups. After that, I moved to some more advanced moves like hook shot, reverse layup etc. I would also practice it with my left hand to make it equal with my right hand so I can use both hands easily, giving me some advantage when playing with opponent unless he can also use both hands with efficiency. A few minutes passed and some players also came to the basketball court to play basketball like me. After a few minutes, we decided to play a match together so we can test our skills against each other and see who is better. My opponent started first and went for a layup but failed. I quickly catch the rebound, cleared the ball and went for a layup and succeeded. So the score is now 1:0. He took the ball, shot a three-pointer and went in which makes the score 1:1. After many struggles, I still won the match by 1 point due to a lucky three pointer. We congratulate each other and quickly left because it was already very late. Overall, I learnt more tricks after playing with him and I also make new friends out of basketball match and is very happy about the basketball match.

A special moment you enjoyed with your family

Hi! Once again, you are reading my fourth official post of my blog. I hope you will enjoy it! In this entry, I am going to talk my special moment I had spent with my family last weekend. It was like
this...

On Sunday, my family are supposed to go out for our weekly family day but had no idea where to go as it was always the same old place etc. east coast park, Tampines Mall or Parkway Parade. Suddenly, I had a brainwave. I quickly voiced out my thoughts, saying "How about we go to the newly built Universal Studio since we haven't been there before?" Everyone agreed and in a blink of an eye, we were in our family car on our to the Universal Studio. I was very elated while thinking what we are going to do next. When we arrived there, we were all mesmerise by the unique design of the Globe (Universal Studio Icon). Once we are inside, we were even more awed than just now by the structure of the Universal Studio and what it contains. We quickly went to the place where they had real life characters from those exciting movies and let us experience it. Although we tried to experience everything there, there were too much stuff so we had to leave the place without completing the whole journey but overall, we still enjoyed it very much and we promised to find some time and go there again to walk the whole Universal Studio. I really really enjoyed the whole process thoroughly and will never forget this special moment.

something unusual that happened that day

Hi everyone! This blog entry will be my third official post on my English Blog! And I hope you will all enjoy my post! It is about something unusual thing that happened during school a few days ago. It was like this...

It was 12th January which was a big day for my CCA which is Boys' Brigade. During the day, we would be celebrating BB day which is the day when all the BB boys commemorate the founding of the Boy's Brigade in Singapore.

It started on 7th January when we had our first rehearsal for BB day. Upon hearing this news, the secondary 2 batch including me were very excited about it as this was our first time participating in this major event. Every week, we would be practicing very hard for the rehearsal to strengthen out drill skills. A primer came and helped us to perfect our drill movements so that we could look and act smart during the actual day without making any mistakes that will embarrass us. After a few good stamps from our feet, we would then finally allowed to go but we were already too tired to move due to our continuous stamping, making our feet hurt.

This continued for 3 days until we were prepared for the actual day. After what seemed like a long time, the day had come. I quickly double checked that I had polish my boots and uniform so I wouldn't embarrass myself at the parade square. I quickly get changed and went to school early so that all of us can assemble in the parade square on time before the other students assemble. My hearts were beating at an exceptionally fast rate as this is my first time. Once again, our parade commander reminded us to be at our best behaviour because the whole school will be looking at us all the time and we must not give the secondary 1 a bad impression of Boy's Brigade. An unexpected news came by after someone shouted “Assembly is going to be held in the school hall! ". All of us shocked out of our wits especially the parade commander. Immediately, the parade commander ordered us to dash down to the hall. Another shocking news came by when we realised that the hall was completely empty. The parade commander was so mad at the person who tricked us and he ordered us back to the parade square. We quickly assembled and saw classes started coming to the parade square. Luckily, we did not panicked and quickly assemble in the parade square.

Soon, all our us started to sing the national anthem and took the pledge smartly. After that, BB Day was officially commenced as the BB chairman read out the BB message. We tried our best not to shake to much or move. Finally, the principal came up and started to praise the Boy's Brigade with all the awards and great achievements. It was followed by a warm applause by the school. Upon hearing this, all of us had a strong pride of our CCA. We left the parade square and headed straight to the BB room where a debrief was held by our BB teacher.

A problem you encountered and how you solved or managed it

Hi guys! This will be my second official post for my Blog and I'm going to write about how I solved my problem I encountered a few days ago. It starts like this...

That day, we were having maths lesson, learning algebraic expression. We had just changed Maths teacher because our class' form teacher who is also my maths teacher went for reservist so a relief teacher took our class and taught us maths. As he had just came out of National Service and had no teaching experience at all! The teacher explained the questions very fast so most of the class had no idea what he is talking about.I was very upset to not understand the question. So in order to learn the algebraic expressions, I used my textbook which has some information on it teaching me how to solve the expressions. But there are still some question which I do not understand so I had to wait until I had my tuition and ask my tuition teacher before I can really understand how to do the algebraic expression correctly. At my tuition centre which is somewhere near Parkway Parade, I asked my tuition teacher about the question that I had problems with. My tuition teacher explained very clearly on what to do when facing these algebraic questions. The next day, when the relief teacher continued on the same topic, my mind was much more clearer allowing me to think through what the teacher is explaining clearly. And this is how I solved my problems! I hope you can use my methods of solving problems!

something that took place in school

Today, I had my second AQ training from my CCA which is Boys' Brigade. The AQ training is to train our running and stamina for BB Blaze which is something like "Amazing Race". In the competition, we are supposed run around the whole Singapore and find booths and do what the booth instructed us to do. After completing the requirements, we will continue our way to find more booth until we completed everything in the competition. So today, we ran around 2 rounds around the whole school with our school bags to train our stamina which is very heavy! While running, I almost wanted to vomit because I had to run fast without stopping at all while trying to keep up with the speed of the sec 3s and sec 4s who are also quite fast. The 2 rounds around the school is like 5km due to our heavy bags slowing us down. After 2 tiring rounds, we ran another round but this time we can finally put down our bags but it was still tough because we had already used up all our energy to run the previous 2 rounds. After running, we went back into school to do some static exercises which include push-up and pull up. We did 20 push-up followed by 5 pull up to train our upper body. After that, we are finally allowed to be released but we stayed for a while to play soccer to relax after the intensive training earlier. After 30 minutes of soccer, we went back home with the whole body aching.
